Hi there! My name is Justine Chenel, and I'm the founder, owner, and dyer behind Silver Pennies Yarn Co based in the Sierra Nevada foothills of California. Created from my knitwear design point of view, this yarn line features beautiful and luxurious yarn bases dyed in deep saturated jewel tones and a full palette of greys, which just so happen to be my favorite color wheel! At Silver Pennies Yarn Co, the scrumptious yarn bases are dyed by hand in small batches, each unique skein is made with care to enhance your own yarn stash and handmade projects.

Silver Pennies Yarn Co is named after a lovely collection of poetry my mother passed down to me that her mother passed down to her. These old books of poems written about fairies and wee folk opened my eyes to a secret and whimsical world full of magic and mystery. Hand-dyeing yarn and creating colors is a celebration of that nostalgia.
